Bandits have kidnapped 11 people including women and children in Dansadau town, the headquarters of Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
One of those whose wives were kidnapped, Malam Suleiman Umar, narrated that the bandits invaded the town on Thursday night with sophisticated weapons and overpowered security personnel.

He also said the bandits set ablaze a military armored vehicle and reportedly killed three soldiers.
Umar, who said his wife is eight-month pregnant, lamented that his family recently paid N4m to bandits when his elder brother was abducted.
He stated, “When my elder brother was abducted, our family paid the sum of N4m before he was released. Now that they took away my eight-month pregnant wife and three children, they called me on the phone and asked for N50m.”
The spokesperson for the police in the state, SP Mohammed Shehu, said: “only five people were abducted.”
On the issue of the alleged killing of three soldiers, Shehu said, “You should please contact the military. It is not a police affair.”
Meanwhile, the state government has donated N15m to families of police cops killed by bandits.

Thirteen policemen were killed in an ambush by bandits last week at Kurar Mota in Bungudu Local Government Area of the state.
According to Dosara, each of the deceased’s families would receive N1m, while the families of those who suffered injuries during the incident are to be given N2m.
“Already, the government has taken care of the medical bills,” the statement said.
