Why Bullets Alone Can’t Stop Bandits, Goodluck Jonathan
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Jonathan advised the federal government to deploy the use of technology to check banditry and other forms of crimes in the country.
Jonathan gave the advice on Sunday, July 18, during a speech at the 50th birthday celebration of a former minister of aviation, Osita Chidoka, in Abuja.
He stated that bullets and other forces of arms alone cannot stop armed robberies, banditry, and other forms of criminality in the country.
Anxiety in PDP as APC reportedly woos Jonathan with presidential ticket
Meanwhile, the main opposition is reportedly facing a hard time after it lost some of its governors to the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the agitation for shifting of the presidency to the south after the expiration of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Some high-ranking members of the ruling party who pleaded anonymity informed Legit.ng that political kingmakers in APC have reportedly resolved to offer the party’s 2023 presidential ticket to former president Goodluck Jonathan.
The party’s acting national chairman and governor of Yobe state, Mai Mala Buni, the minister of justice, Abubakar Malami and Jigawa state governor, Badaru Abubakar, are said to be fighting fiercely to grab the slot of presidential running mate.
