1.Burna Boy

His real name is Daniel Ebunuoluwa Ogulu. He was born on the 2nd of July, 1991 at Ahoada in present day Rivers State. He is one of the biggest musical Artists that Africa has ever produced.
He is a Nigerian Hip Pop musician, Rapper and Songwriter. He has sang many musical tunes that are popular in all over the world. He has sang many songs and have done some collaboration with some other musicians, he has also released two albums which “African Giant” and “Twice as Tall”.
Burna Boy has won some top awards in the international music industry. The awards he has won includes “Best International Act” at the BET Awards in 2019. Burna Boy has also won the award for the Best World Music at the 63rd Grammy Awards in 2021. This singer never fails to bless us with latest Nigerian Music.

2. Wizkid

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun popularly known as Wizkid is one of the biggest musicians in Africa. He has greatly impacted in Nigerian Music industry. He was born on July 16, 1990 in the Surelere Area of Lagos, Nigeria.


He has released and recorded many songs ever since he rose to stardom with his track “Holla at your boy” in 2011. He has released numerous singles and albums that we’re successful. Wizkid also called Starboy has won so many international awards both in Africa and Europe.

He recently won a Grammy Award for his collaboration with American musician Beyonce’s Album “Lion King”.
Currently, Wizkid is the richest musician in Nigeria.

3. Davido

David Adeleke also known as Davido is a Nigerian Musician, Song writer and Music producer. He was born on 21st November, 1992 to a rich and influential family in Osun State, Nigeria.
Davido is the owner of many successful popular singles after he became famous after releasing ” Dami Duru”, one of the songs that brought him to fame.
Davido is one of the most decorated Nigerian musical Artists with over 100 awards both local and international awards. He also have over 2.5 million Subscribers on his official YouTube Channel.

4. Angelique Kidjo

She is in fact the biggest female Artist that Africa has ever produced. She is a Beninese-American musician who was born on July 14, 1960 at Ouidah, Benin.

Kidjo started her musical carrier at a tender age, when she starting singing with the school band and performing at music shows with her mother. She has won 3 Grammy Awards to her name.

5. Diamond Platinumz

Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack also known as Diamond Plantinumz is a Tanzanian Musician, dancer, recording artist and businessman.

He has many successful single records. He has also have collaborations with other top African artists. He is the first African based Musician who have 900 million views on his YouTube videos.

6. Slapdee

Mwila Musonda known as Slapdee is a Zambian hip hop and Rap Artist. He has sang and released many songs after he rose to limelight in 2006 with his song “Assembe Isebenza”. He has won some international and local awards in his music career.

7. Busiswa Gqulu

Busi is a South African female musician who was born on November 8,1988 at Mthata, Easter Cape in South Africa.

She released her first album in 2013 which launched her to limelight. She have sang some songs that are making the waves ever since then.

8. Yemi Alade

Yemi Eberechi Alade is a Nigerian female music Artist, Afripop singer, actress and human rights activists. She was born on the 13th of March, 1989.

She have making waves in the Nigerian music scene, after she released her hit single “Johnny” in 2014.Yemi Alade is a linguist who can speak many languages. She can speak English, Igbo, Yoruba, French, Portuguese and Swahili.

9. Sho MADJOSI

Maya Christianh Wegerif who is known by her stage name Sho Madjodi was born on 9th May, 1992.

She is a South African singer, songwriter poet and rapper. Madjosi rose to fame in 2017 after recording and releasing her first single”Dumi Hiphone”.

She has gone on to win many awards including the prestige BET award for Best New Act in 2019.

10. Youssou N’dour

He is a Senegalese Musician and music producer who was born in October 1959.
Youssou N’dour is a UNICEF ambassador. He is also a human rights activists and Peace Advocate. He has some awards both locally and internationally, including winning the Grammy Awards.

Khaled Hadj Ibrahim is an Algerian-French Ria Singer who has make a name for himself in the music industry worldwide.
He was born on February, 1960 in France.
He has released albums that are very popular in France.

He has also won a a Grammy Award. He is one of the best selling African musician in history, he has sold over 20 million copies of his albums.

12. Oumou Sangare

She is an award winning Malian musical Artist, who was born on February, 1968.
Her first Album “Moussoulou” was a popular as it she sold more than 200,000 copies of her album.
She has many awards given to her including a Grammy award, FAO media Ambassador and she won the UNESCO prize.

13. Awilo Longomba

Awilo Longomba is one of the names in African Music that will be unforgettable. He was born in Congo on May 1962.

He was formerly a drummer but he left the occupation for singing. He recorded and released his first music single titled “Moto Pamba” in 1995. After releasing his single, Longomba released many music titles with the Makosa Sound that is still reverberating over Africa till date.

14. Koffi Olomide

He was born on July, 1956. He is a Congolese music who was popularly known for his genre of music which was known as “Soukous” music. He is a first degree holder and also a Masters degree holder in Mathematics from the University of Paris.

Over the course of his musical career, he released over 30 albums and sold about 10 million copies worldwide.

15. Tubaba

Tuface Idibia is a Nigerian Afrobeat singer, who was born on September 1975.

He started his music career as a member of the now defunct group “Plantashun Boiz” before he break up with the group to go solo.

His most popular hit till today was his hit single”African Queen”. So far, Tubaba has released 6 albums and many hits and music collaborations.

He has also won some awards and recognitions. He is one of the popular Nigerian Music Artists.
